12-Year-Old Abby Gillon Tragically Died in an Accident in Delaware County, Pennsylvania
On June 14, 2025, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, a tragic accident occurred involving two young girls riding an electric scooter. Abby Gillon, age 12, and her friend Bella Jones were struck by a vehicle after falling off the scooter. Both were critically injured and rushed to Nemours Children’s Hospital.
After battling a severe traumatic brain injury, Abby sadly passed away two days later on June 16. Bella sustained multiple serious injuries, including fractures to her skull, jaw, ribs, femur, and collarbone, and faces a long rehabilitation process.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities while investigations continue. Abby’s mother, Lori Kralle, devastated by the loss of her only daughter, has joined efforts to promote “Abby’s Law.” This proposed legislation aims to improve e-scooter safety with speed limits, helmet requirements for teens, and age restrictions to prevent similar tragedies.

The community has rallied around the family, organizing fundraisers that have raised substantial support for medical and funeral expenses. An online memorial celebrates Abby’s life, highlighting her kindness, creativity, and love for swimming, cheerleading, and favorite foods like pickle pizza.

Meanwhile, Bella’s family is focused on her long recovery, supported by a fundraiser to help cover medical costs. Despite the heartbreaking loss, Abby’s family hopes that her story will lead to greater safety and awareness to protect other children.

We offer our deepest condolences to Abby’s loved ones and wish Bella strength and healing in the months ahead.
